Just a reminder that the charity model search is still going on for families until March 15.

Last week I had the amazing honor of photographing a birth.  Kate is a good friend of mine and we’ve known each other for about 10 years now.  I love all of her children, but I had the privilege of being there when the last two entered into this world.  Last week she called me to tell me she was being induced and I could hardly sleep that night!  I waited a good part of the day for her to call and let me know it was time to get to the hospital.  Finally she said it was time so I got there around 4:00.  I was literally shaking and bouncing off the walls with excitement!  If you know me at all, you know birthing, newborns and everything about it is right up my alley.  That is part of the crunchy side of me haha.  Kate and I are just alike in this.  So, I sat with Kate and her amazing midwife and doula while Kate labored like a champ.  It was hard for me to watch her in so much pain even though I know pain is good during labor.

When it was time for Miss F to enter the world I had my camera ready and captured some amazing shots of her daddy catching her into his strong arms.  There is something about being with your friend during such a special time that really bonds you to your friend and to the new baby.  F entered the world at 7:43 pm - yes, it really was that fast for you, Kate lol.  SHE didn’t think so, but everyone else did.

When I’m done editing I’ll post a few if Kate approves.  :-)  The room was dark and I was shaking so I’m praying I made some great memories for her that she will love.

Here is Baby F the next day when I went to see her at the hospital.

This sweet baby came in to celebrate her birthday with me!  Her mom had all sorts of adorable outfits for her and that made it even more fun.  P wasn’t too interested in her birthday cake…she was very dainty about sticking her little fingers into the frosting to get a few licks.  I love messy cake faces, but also love to share in some frosting with the baby…I think it gives the baby good luck or something.

I know I don’t normally show this many photos from a session, but I struggled to choose just a few.  Miss O is such a natural in front of the camera and I really love to photograph her!  You probably recognize her because I’ve photographed her several times and she is all over my marketing materials and studio.  You will be seeing more of her, I’m sure!

She and her mom came in for the Family Model Search.  I’m thrilled they decided to participate!

So, I just realized I forgot to add this gorgeous family to my blog!  So sorry L.  Look how proud they are of their new baby sister.  They were all so good with her - hopefully they are at home too!  lol

Meet Baby A and Baby A.  They are such sweet babies…one boy, one girl.  It’s not easy to get two babies sleeping at the same time - I’m sure their mom and dad can attest to that lol.  The session lasted awhile, but was pretty smooth.  I’m always amazed at new moms who are so calm and laid back about their babies.  I can’t wait for you to see the rest, A!

This photo just makes me melt!

How cool that these girls called me for a session to surprise their parents!  Maybe there IS hope for teenagers…OK, KIDDING!  I received a text from them letting me know the gift was loved!  (And my dad makes FUN of me for texting!  ha!)

These beautiful girls came in for a session as a surprise for their mom and dad.  They were so fun to work with and I was really impressed that they took it upon themselves to call me and come in for their session.  One of the girls sent me a text of everything framed and I even got to hear about the reaction to their gift.  I love it!  Great gift idea, girls!!

C is just the funniest little boy….quite possibly the funniest 4 year old I’ve met! I have loads of images of him with such great expressions.  Maybe I’ll post more later, but this is just a sneak peek for mom.  I have to say that C got his humor from his mom…she calls him “kid” and it’s just so funny.

This is quite possibly my favorite image I’ve shot in a long time because of what it represents.  I asked C all sorts of funny questions and asked if he’s been a good boy lately and after some thought he said “I’ve been just a little bit bad.”  I loved his honest lol.
