Isn’t she a beautiful mama?!  I loving having pregnant women in for their portrait because they don’t always feel so beautiful at this time and I want to show them how beautiful they truly are!  Then I get to photograph the new baby about a month or 2 later.  LOVE that!

Obviously I treasure my photos more than pretty much anything.  My memories are pretty special and important to me as well, but my memory isn’t always great so I rely on my precious photos.   I love to capture personalities and expressions you might not be able to get.  But, what I’m blogging about today is wedding photography.  I don’t shoot many weddings anymore, but I knew what I was looking for in my own wedding photographer.

I thought it might help someone to know how I chose my photographer.  His name is Brett and this is his website:   http://www.makingthemoment.com/

First I was looking for someone who would work with me on the date.  I can’t tell you how many photographers would say “OK, well, when you pick a wedding date let me know.”  Okaaaay……so you can tell me it isn’t available when I have my heart set on you??  I honestly didn’t even contact that many because it was difficult to find the style I wanted.  Style was my priority here.  I didn’t want to have to tell my photographer every little detail about what I wanted.  I gave Brett some ideas and feel confident he’ll run with it.

Personality!  I wanted someone fun and someone I hit it off with right away.  We bonded over cameras right away so I felt comfortable.  Plus, he’s Italian so what more could one want??  haha

Professional.  My photographer had to be a true pro.  We talked business so I know he isn’t a hobbyist.

Price wasn’t too much of a concern because the photos are my priority here.  I suspect it could be a very long time before all of us are together again and all looking so nice so I wanted to get some great photos of us and all of the kids.  I even have dedicated wall space just for these photos!

Equipment.  Really.  Make sure your photographer has some good camera equipment.  Knowing how to use it is even more important.  You probably won’t know if your potential wedding photographer has good equipment so you can look it up or ask someone who knows.

We have a pastor and a photographer.   We’re close to finalizing our dinner plans too.  Now we need clothes and a ceremony location!

Yes, I know posts are more exciting with photos, but I will get that that next.  I have many sessions to blog about!

I’m finally getting around to posting these images of this wonderful family.  I’m very excited to shoot big sister, A’s senior portraits this summer!

M is so sweet and loving to his baby sister.

I really love this one of big sister and little brother.  Their relationship is so cute.

Since I’m wearing a shirt today that says “I’m busy…read my blog” I figured I should at least update it.  I’ve been waiting to post sessions for the parents to see their images so I can enjoy their excitement, but I know mom is waiting to see these today.  :)

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one!  I swear I smiled so often during our session.  I think she likes me.  She is the first baby to model so perfectly on my new, old bed.  It was my grandmother’s bed handmade by her dad.  I can’t wait to show my grandma how I’m using it.

I love the newness of this one.  She is so perfect and sweet.  I can’t stop looking at her little foot and hands in this image.

I still have some openings left for the Daddy Days promo.  What a great way to capture your relationship with dad!  Father’s Day is a great time to remind our dad how much we love and appreciate him; what better way than with a relationship portrait!

I’ve told many women about the Maya Wrap so I thought I’d put a link here for you find easily.  I used these for my babies and it made my life so much easier!  You can carry your baby until he/she is about 3 years old.  Let me know what you think.

This session was so much fun!  There is just something about little boys I find so fun…they are low maintenance and usually pretty messy.  I captured tons of great images of these guys!  Their big sister was so sweet and became my friend quiet easily.

I’ve been anxiously waiting to show you these photos.  Now that mom has seen them I can show off Miss A!  She was so sweet during our session and I got tons of great shots - obviously I couldn’t choose just a few.  :-)  So, what do you think?!  I can’t wait for her 1st birthday!
